Toby Birney

well, I'm pretty bummed that my work schedule is not going to allow me to make it to the reunion. I have enjoyed reading about everyone and catching up with many of you here.

I graduated from UAB (after transferring from Birmingham Southern College) with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications (broadcasting) and a minor in music. I took a job at a commercial production company in Birmingham after graduating, and worked my way up from sweeping the studio floor and assisting on productions to shooting commercials within 2 years.

In 1997, I moved to Los Angeles to further pursue my career in film and television production. That same year I took a job on a tv show that was filming in Lithuania (The New Adventures of Robin Hood). In 1998, during my 2nd season on that show, I met the woman who would later become my wife. Marija and I bounced back and forth between Lithuania and Los Angeles for years (depending on where the work was) but we decided to settle down permanently in Lithuania in 2003.

These days I work as a cinematographer shooting everything from commercials to feature films and television documentaries.
