The mini-memorial service we held at Billy's gravesite after our 20-year reunion is something I will NEVER forget. I can honestly say that I've never felt as close to my classmates as I did that afternoon. Thanks to everyone that went that day...it was such a blessing to Billy's Mom and Dad. Billy was in my room in kindergarten. Every day when it was time for the afternoon bell to ring, he would chase the girls down and kiss them before they left. It didn't matter if you didn't want kissed because he'd hunt you down and sit on you and do it anyway. Finally, I just quit running and decided to just get it over with. That is until the day, I kicked him hard and he never tried to kiss me again!!

Billy passed away on May 12, 2000, from injuries he sustained in a mining accident.
