I attended Tech 2 years, then transferred to North Texas State in Denton. I married Philip Wilson within days of graduating from North Texas in December 1972. Philip grew up in southeast Oklahoma, the son of a farmer and preacher. He has been a Christian Church pastor since 1968. We have lived in Denton, TX; McAlester, OK; Fort Worth, TX; Tacoma, WA; Gig Harbor, WA; Eureka Springs, AR; and now Enid, OK.
We moved to Tacoma in 1984 for me to attend law school. After graduating, I worked for the prosecutor's office in Tacoma for 10 years.
I retired from the State of Arkansas in October 2013 and Philip retired from First Christian Church, Eureka Springs, in October 2015. In July 2017 we moved to Enid, OK, where we look forward to retirement living but don't think that will ever happen.
My grandkids call me Nana and my husband, Papu. We got to meet our newest grandson in October 2009 when our oldest son, Jared, and his wife adopted their youngest child from Ethiopia.
My parents divorced in 1978. My father lived in Idalou until 1998, when he moved to assisted living in Lubbock. He passed away in 2002. My mother moved to Oklahoma and remarried. My stepfather died in 1983. Mother lived with us in Gig Harbor, WA, for about 9 years, then moved to Oregon to be close to my brother's family. She passed in 2004. My brother, Larry, passed away in October 2015..
Our older son is a photographer and you can often see pictures of our grandkids on his website, jaredwilsonphotography.com. His wife is busy taking great care of our beautiful grandkids. Our younger son is a sales rep for Jackson Furniture.
