I retired December 31, 2013 from the Malvern Bank, Malvern, Iowa. Moved to Colorado April 15th 2014. We live three blocks from our grandkids.
I have been watching the youngest grandson Kalvin play baseball the past five years. His 14 and under team won four tournaments this past spring and summer. He is pretty much a centerfielder like his grandfather but does catch and play second base from time to time. He was the John Lynch Foundation middle school star of the year in 2018 as a seventh grader. He runs track, wrestles, plays football, basketball and soccer when he is not playing baseball.
The oldest grandson, Trenton, retired from baseball three years ago to concentrate on golf. He had his first hole in one a year ago two days before his fifteenth birthday. He played on Regis High School junior varsity team last year and is hoping to make varsity this year. Regis High School has won five of the last seven State team titles in Colorado for the large school division. Last week (July 22nd) he shot a 72 on the local course (it's a par 72 course). Grandpa doesn't play golf anymore for a good reason. He is also on the high school Mock Trial team. He will be a junior this fall.
The granddaughter, Jillian, will be a sixth grader this fall and will be trying out for the middle school swim team this winter. She is the musical one of the bunch and also the artist. We will be watching her to see if she follows in her brothers footsteps.
Hope to see everyone at the class reunion on September 6th and 7th.
