Susanna Laird Madden

I was a show skier (water skier, Cypress Gardens style) for 14 years.
I have been a REALTOR for about 32 years, and with RE/MAX for 14 years. I am active on the local, state and national level. I was president of my Association in 2002, and was Florida State President of Women's Council of REALTORS in 2006.
I was the Associate REALTOR of the Year for the Florida Assn of REALTORS in 2008.
I married Andrew Polk from Farmington, Missouri in 2005. He's an old (well, only 2 years older than I) hippie (not anymore!) singer/songwriter turned gosper singer. Now he has a booking agency and he sings around the Tampa Bay area, acoustic guitar, mainly oldies, lotsa Jimmy Buffett, Van Morrison, Drifters, Elvis, Mickey Newbury, Willie, Everly Brothers, Don Williams, etc. He's a crooner.
I won two elections this year (2013). One as vice president of my Association of REALTORS (Greater Tampa) even though I have already been president. And I also ran for president-elect of Certified Residential Specialists for Florida for 2014, and won that one, so I will be president of CRS in 2015. Keeps me busier than you can imagine!

I graduated from Southeast Missouri University with 3 majors: English, Spanish and Theatre.

Also went in the summers to St Louis Univ and Southwest Missouri State in Springfield, Missouri.

Some of you might remember my yellowhead Amazon parrot named Thammy that I had when I lived in Indianola when I was a freshman. I STILL HAVE HIM! He will be 50 in January of 2014. Looks the same.

I know most of you don’t remember me because I didn’t graduate with you. My dad got orders to serve in Vietnam and we moved to Missouri. But I have great memories of my time in Indianola and I’m Facebook friends (as Susanna Madden) with some of you to this day. I appreciate being allowed to remain a part of this group. Carpe diem.
