Comments:

I retired at the end of 2015 after 34 years with Thomson-Reuters. However, I was asked to return as contract labor starting in January 2016. So now, I'll work about 4.5 months out of the year. Outside work I continue to enjoy workouts four days a week, mixing swimming with shooting jumpers; sometimes jog. I also keep up with my piano playing. I'm back out playing in front of people again and this (performing) is something I want to pursue full time. My current repertoire (off top of the head) stands at 300 songs. As well, I love football too, probably more than my life. The reminder of the family moved to Houston two years ago, and I get down there quite often, but I’ve also been fortunate to had opportunity to travel many parts of the country, especially the park systems. I am (regrettably?) a never married.

School Story:

Many good memories!

CHARLIE KOLLER has left an In Memory comment for GILMER HOLT.
Sep 23, 2015 at 11:33 AM

From Charles Koller ----

Gil was as fine a man, husband, father, and neighbor as the world could offer. He married his high school sweetheart, the lovely Cyndi Robertson (Holt), and together they had two outstanding boys, Justin and Jared.  Both boys took piano lessons from my mother, and their very well-mannered natures and discipline were true reflections of great parenting.   Both boys were Irving High athletes, Justin stood 6’4” and Jared over 7-foot tall.  It was always amazingly entertaining just to watch them sit at the keyboard, over-powering the size of a grand piano.  Only learning of Gil’s passing in August, 2015, I can only imagine how traumatic the loss of Gil is to the Holt family, as it is certainly very sad news to both my sister Kathy and me.
