I have done a lot of different things since high school. I have been married technically three times, yes I said three. Two marriages were to the same person, yes we married and divorced twice…and even considering the last divorce too. Love what can you say. Anyway, I have done several different things and been to many different places since we were in school. I joined the Air Force and spent over a couple years in got out for personal reasons. I loved it though. After getting out of the Air Force I worked for MCAS in Hawaii as an Audit Technician, doing accounting fun stuff. I lived in Hawaii for a little over 2 years and it was nice, but expensive.
Upon coming back to the mainland I transferred to the MCAS on Camp Lejeune doing the same job I was in Hawaii only for a lot lower pay..so to supplement, I waitressed at an adult entertainment bar. I have to tell you, those were the best times of my life, mid 20’s with nothing but having a great time. Yes, I was single. I was doing that for a while then met someone and got engaged and moved to New York, well that lasted all of 6 months (post move we were together for 2 years). I moved to be closer to my family in Grand Rapids, MI where I decided I needed a real job..so I went to nursing school and have worked in the medical field for the last 16 years. I have worked for just about every specialty and I have to say Pediatrics is my favorite with OB/GYN coming in second. I graduated in 2006 with my Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management, with an emphasis in Healthcare Management.
I have managed several million dollar medical practices and loved my job unfortunately when moving back to Jacksonville has that part of my life a little suspended due to circumstance however, I decided that I needed a trade so I went back to Coastal Carolina Community College and got my Nail Technician certificate and now I am a Nail Technician. Now I just graduated in Dec 2012 so I am still building my business and clientele but know that it will be sucessful. I have decided to forge my own path in the business world and be my own boss and it is great.
I feel like the riches person in the world. I have great children, a happy life and that in itself is priceless. I am grateful to all my classmates and our continued friendships over all of these years it is nice to know that we were really all that close. The 20th Reunion was a blast and I know that the 25th will be even better. I look forward to seeing you ALL there this time.
Love to you all
Cherie
