Shannon Steinhäuser

I went to UNK for 2 years then moved to Fresno, CA. I finished undergrad in molecular-cellular biology at Cal State Fresno in 1995 then went to Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, CA. I graduated from that program in 1999 and then did my residency at HuHuKam Memorial Hospital in Sacaton, AZ, on the Gila River Indian reservation. After completing my residency I began working at medical eye care referral center. I left there in 2011 to go teach at the new optometry program at Midwestern University. I missed patient care too much and opened my own practice, Phoenix Eye Care, with my husband, in 2013. I continued you teaching part-time at the Eye Institute until early 2014.

My favorite memory of high school is when the band went to Florida our senior year and Mandy Johnson (Class of 91) was in remission and went with us. She went around without her wig on and people just thought she was a big Sinead O'Connor fan. :)
