Cory S. Newton U.S. Marine, LCpl. Cory S. Newton of Hull, Ga., (formerly of Waretown, N.J. and Kenosha, Wis.) passed away suddenly on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, George J. Gascoigne. Survivors include his fiancée, Durin Davis-Eberhart; his mother, Michelle Newton; his grandmother, Ruby Gascoigne; his daughter Grace and her mother Christine Newton; his daughter Adonnia Newton; his grandson Dylan; his sisters, Krystal Meisel, and Jocelyn Jackson; his brothers, Jay Meisel, Michael Ostergaard, Neal Ostergaard, Christopher Ostergaard, and Jim Wallace, Bob Diel; his aunts LeeAnn Furrh, Joyce Anderson, Angie Vaughn and Mary Sykelma; his uncles Brian Gascoigne and Dennis Gascoigne. He has a number of nieces and nephews, cousins and many, many friends. Cory was a member of Cornerstone Calvary Chapel in Howell, N.J. He was the lieutenant of the Long Branch, N.J., Fire Department, a member of the Waretown, N.J., Fire Department and the Jefferson, Ga., Fire Department. He had many friends who were co-workers at Nissan of Athens in Georgia, and Red Bank Nissan in New Jersey. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Hull Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lord & Stephens East Chapel.
