Favorite hilarious moment at MC (come on - don't be shy)
Driving to the local liquor store in Bon Air Center off of Sir Francis Drake Blvd. with Mark Shobar, Tom Grady and Rich Pera, all in a quest to take advantage our “very” fake ID’s and buy beer for one of the weekend parties. The idea was to pose as a local construction worker, which we thought required us to walk into the store without our shirts on, as though our teenaged peach fuzzed bodies were supposed to convince anyone. The fact we got away with it had more to do with the poor eyesight of the elderly ladies who worked as cashiers than our baseless confidence. To make matters more ridiculous, I recall walking out with a case of beer and throwing it in the rumble seat of my father’s 1931 Chevy… like any more attention needed to be drawn to this delicate matter, then ducking inside the cab of the antique convertible after seeing the MC Librarian, Mrs. Simons, walking past us, fortunately in utter oblivion. Thank god!
The fact I was not a beer drinker really didn’t matter as it was all about the adventure. Fortunately life has remained adventurous, but without the need for a fake ID.
