Well, where to start…..
Some of you knew me as Allan, some knew me as Richard, but everybody called me “Stick”. I left town right after graduation for Basic Training and never looked back. I’ve come back from time to time and occasionally run into some of ya’ll here and there. But mostly I’ve been out of touch and just never took the time to stick around (no pun intended). I’ve been in the Army for the last 21 years and 7 months and could be retiring but decided to stay in a few extra years and deploy to Iraq with my unit one more time and I came back in July. I’ve been stationed all over the world and lived in Amsterdam, Vicenza, Sinai Egypt and visited everywhere in between. I finally got married about 4 years ago to a wonderful gal I met while living in Boise, ID. I currently live here at Colorado Springs and am stationed at Fort Carson with my wife and son (Janelle and Jared aka J-Mo, you’ll see the summertime Mohawk in his pic’s)

I never finished college however I was working on a degree in Kinesiology at Boise State before deploying to Iraq the first time. Hobbies and things that I enjoy these days are hunting, fishing, all sports and most of all my family. The places I have been and things that I have seen have caused me to realize that we truly live in the greatest country in the world and I am determined to enjoy all that it has to offer, as long as my family can come along on my adventures. I’ve attached a questionnaire that I stumble onto from time to time so that everyone who remembers me or wants to know who I am these days can find out:
1.Tell me something obvious about you:
I love my job and family
2. Have you ever been arrested?
If you mean actually going to jail….no, but if you mean being handcuffed and questioned by the cops after doing something stupid for fun…yes
3. What is your biggest fear?
That one day my wife or son will really need
me to be there for them and I won’t be
4. Do you normally go the safe route or take the short cut?
Depends on which is more fun, the short cut
usually leads to a good story later
5. Name one thing you want that you can't buy with money.
A deeper understanding and relationship with
God
6. What is your most treasured possession?
I honestly do not have one, material things
don’t matter they can be replaced, my family
is not my possession it is my gift from God
7. What is the one thing you hate most about yourself that you do often?
That I can always make time for work, but
have troubles making time for my family, that
my wife and son have to sacrifice their
husband/father
8. What’s your favorite song?
My next 30 years by Tim McGraw, I still
haven’t grown up
9. What’s your favorite movie?
JACKASS movies… any of them
10. What’s your favorite holiday?
Halloween, me… a pumpkin….and a
jigsaw/sawsall…..need I say more
11. Are you the jealous type? Nope
13. What is the one person, place or thing you can't say no to?
My wife
14. What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
When I came home for Christmas, Janelle had
made paper snowflakes and hung them from
the ceiling along with an all out household
decoration scheme, she really goes all out for
me all the time
15. When was the last time you cried?
When I packed the personal effects of a
Soldier killed by an IED… I didn’t know him,
but I’ll never forget him
16. When was the last time you felt so good that nothing else mattered?
The day I got married
17. Do you feel comfortable in public with no shirt on?
I have no problems unleashing mighty whitey
on the world!!!!
18. Name something embarrassing you did while being drunk.
Showed off the “little man on the trampoline!!”
19. If you answered this questionaire, who else would you like to see answer it?
Doesn’t really matter, my entire graduating
class is about to!!!

Some have tried to make contact with me in the past through talking with my mom, I apologize for not getting back in touch...that's part of the reason I am finally making contact now. Hopefully everyone has had fulfilling life and is happy with who and where they are. I know I am
I would love to be at the 20 year reunion and catch up on old stories and friendships, however I will be in Iraq at that time. So take care everyone, and for those that remember me slam a beer for me at the reunion

Stick!!
