Here is a message I received 15 May 2014:

sharirtaufer Hi Marilla,
I would be Linda's sister-in-law if she were still living. I'm married to her brother, John. You're right, Linda is elusive. I told John, she is a challege, and I feel like a P.I. The date of birth you've given is correct. I'm not sure whether or not Linda finished high school because she married at age sixteen, and she was a mother one year later. I ordered her death certificate, and I hope to give you more details when it arrives in a couple of weeks. Thanks for your patience.

Alanson (Lanny) Hertzberg

Linda was in the drama club with me at M.H. Stanley run by Mrs. McCormick. She played the lead character in the play "The Witch of Blackbird Pond." I remember her as very smart, clever and quick-witted. She worked hard in that play. Once at Acalanes, I only saw her a couple of times. She told me once that her life was very sad compared to most of the kids who were in high school. I did not see her after our sophmore year, so I think that is when she left school. I am very sad to read her obituary as I remember her with grear admiration and fondness.
