David Fencik

Played baseball through my college years (JR College in FL & TN Wesleyan in Athens, TN) but found my way back to Florida to finish my degree at FSU. I am living in Knoxville, TN and working as an applications consultant with a regional business enterprise healthcare division of AT&T.

In November 2008 I married the woman that captured my heart and we had our first child in November 2010. A healthy baby boy and his name is Cooper Everett Fencik. WOW! So this is what parenthood is all about. I am now in training to become the world's fastest diaper changer..... however, I never seem to be fast enough and just why is it that babies always have a "reserve tank" that is released when their litte rear-ends touch fresh diapers? Let's see.... I will be 58 by the time he is off at college..... so much for nursing my mid-life crisis for all it was worth.

I am eager with anticipation to hear my son say the word that every father wants to hear for the first time...."daddy". (I suppose that will wear-off quickly enough after the first couple hundred times but don't spoil it for me just yet all of you who are "parent-ized") Until then.... my life begins a-new, but all more than worth it especially when I am holding my son and see the look in his eyes as he gazes up at me. It is as if he is trying to say...... you are my world.

It was great to see everyone at the reunion and I hope to continue to stay in touch over the years to come.

- What was up with the flat top haircut and was I not familiar with how to smile at that time? (see SR class picture above)

- Beach week (sobriety was never a pressing concern)

- The stupid crazy stunts that Jon Nephew and I undertook but never got caught doing. Ahhhh... stories that last for a lifetime and will no doubt be shared by me with your sons when they are old enough to get a good laugh out of it.

- Eric Birle's obsession with eating ketchup and lots of it at lunch every day with whatever was on the menu (It is considered a vegetable serving isn't it?)

- Matt Keferl...I do remember you puking on Coach Nelson's shoes in the huddle at the district championship game. I think I even recall what you had for dinner because it was in plain view for all of us to see at our feet.

- Jeff Johnwick's episode with the parking brake releasing on his pick-up truck which was in neutral while "parked" with a date AND on a hill. Math word problems were never exactly my gig in school but.... just how fast DOES a Toyota pick-up truck roll down a hill in Florida while in neutral with two occupants oblivious to the situation?

- Manny Sapien...... what else can I say but.... Manny....

- Many other stories which shall remain undocumented in order to protect the lives of the innocent.
