School Story:
Just a few memories from my years at LHS.
•The Lionettes homecoming candidate slogan, “Dribble With Whittle”. (Now that we are all nearing the age of 50, this has a different meaning than it did 30 years ago.)
•A fetal pig mysteriously disappearing from Mr. Parrish’s science class and reappearing, on Mrs. Hirschfield’s podium.
•Mr. Yates, in a rain coat, water pistol in hand, squirting anyone found smoking in the parking lot. (Wow, this would really cause havoc today).
•Having the sound of a flushing toilet banned from our homecoming skit because it was “offensive”.
•Attending the funeral for fellow classmate, Kwang Oh, who was killed during a robbery.
•Being stage manager for the school plays and working with such talents as Sona McDonald, Arthur Dohany, and Joel Vinson.
•Eddie Gilbert and his magic tricks.
•Putt-putt golf at Diggety’s.
•Attending the midnight showing of the Rocky Horror picture show.
•Signing Mr. Yates’ honor roll, rubber chicken!
•Cheering the basketball team on during the state finals.
