School Story:
I clearly remember the day President Kennedy was shot, because I was doing a play in my third grade classroom, and was being overdramatic with my part. This caused my good friend, John Ritz, to burst out laughing when I caught his eye, which resulted in him getting a smack from the Sister (can't believe I don't remember her name, because she was notorious!) and an admonishment for laughing on the day the President was shot!
Another event I won't forgot happened on the first day of school in '69. Jim (?) Hoban and I had served as alter boys for the 6:30am Mass, and decided that we didn't need to go to the 8:00am Mass before school. We probably went to Lenny's for candy, and went to home room after the 8:00 Mass. The first announcement from Sister Madonna (Don't you dare....!) was for "Mr. Hoban and Mr. Hinkelman, come to my office immediately", where we were reprimanded for not attending the 8:00 Mass with our classmates.
