Smith, James Spencer 'Senator'

Age 66, born April 19, 1938 in Lansing, passed from this earth Sunday, June 13, 2004.

 

A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, he will be remembered first and foremost for his love and devotion to his family, along with his generous heart.

 

James graduated from Eastern High School in 1957. He was a member of the National Guard, worked in 1957 at the Lansing McDonalds, the first in Michigan, as manager for 8 years, and later worked for Brinks, Inc. for 10 years, and then the Lansing Board of Water and Light until retirement in 1998.

 

James was an avid golfer, fisherman, and boater. He enjoyed walking, bike riding, and playing cards.

 

James was preceded in death by his grandson Ryan Jones. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 44 years, Colleen; daughter Sandra (Terry) Shauver, and Shelly (Steve) White; his sin Timothy, daughter-in-law Carol; along with his nine grandchildren, Shane. Luke, Samantha, Ethan, Travis, Tyler, Justin, Mike, and Amanda.

 

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 2-6 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, with Services at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17 in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, with Pastor Royce Allen of Trinity Church officiating.

 

Internment Services will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Campbell Township Cemetery in Clarksville, Michigan.
