Barbara Willyoung Cook

Barbara K. Cook age 71 of Houghton Lake passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday October 2, 2010 with her family by her side. Barbara was born on September 29, 1939 in Lansing Michigan to Gordon & Virginia (Thedford) Willyoung. She married Gary Cook in 1986 in Toledo Ohio. They moved to Houghton Lake permanently in 2001 from Trenton Michigan. She was a computer processor for many years with Auto Owners in Lansing. She was a member of the Houghton Lake Eagles, Houghton Lake Moose, the Red Hats, she loved to dance, knit, and enjoyed arts & crafts and going to the casino. Barbara is survived by her loving husband Gary Cook of Houghton Lake, son Scott (Vanda) Richardson of Georgia, daughter Cindi (Joe Smithson) Richardson of Waterford, four step-sons Calvin (Vicki) Cook of Wisconsin, Gregory Cook of Gaines, Edward Cook of Florida, Patrick (Lori) Cook of White Lake, grandchildren Noelle Richardson, Dylan Cook, Halley Cook, Jessica, Tara, two great grandchildren Damien and Bishop, and a grand dog Sanders and sister Carolyn (Bob) Ballard of St. Johns. A Memorial service is scheduled for Thursday October 7, 2010 at the Houghton Lake Moose Lodge located at 100 James Road, Prudenville, Michigan from 1-3 pm.
