(June) David Robson

David Lee Robson
(Known in school as Dave Bell)

Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, David Lee Robson, aged 82, passed away in his home on Sunday, March 6, 2022. Born on January 15, 1940 in Lansing, he was the only child of Marguerite C. Bell and raised by his grandparents Robert and Anna Robson during the turbulent end of World War II. David, graduated from Eastern High School in 1957, gifted in music and math, elected to forgo a music scholarship and pursued a career at GM on the threshold of the explosion of computer technology and programming. He married his high school sweetheart, Delora C. Martzke, on November 16, 1957 and was soon the father of 3 and mastering the dynamics of computer languages and systems analysis. After a 56-year career at GM, and EDS, Dave retired at the top of his career as the Lansing EDS Regional Manager. He was a man of character and strength with a solid work ethic, staunchly patriotic, devoted to family and creating a better life for those he loved. Lacking a true father figure in his own life, he gave his children all he lacked in his childhood and more. He was fond of shooting sports and shot competitively, but couldn't bring himself to enjoy the sport of hunting. He loved dogs, cars, motorcycles, John Wayne movies, Robert B. Parker novels, woodworking, driving with the top down on his vintage Cadillac Allante, family barbeques, Irish Whiskey on the rocks, relaxing in his easy chair with a dog on his lap and mowing his lawn. In his retirement he created 5 grandfather clocks, crafted lovingly for his children. He enjoyed traveling, and shared with his family vacations to many National Parks and Historic sites. He was an upstanding patriot and loved his country. In retirement he explored his Scott-Irish-English heritage and visited Scotland, Ireland and England several times. He owned many homes, lived for a time in Gladwin, Michigan, then split 20 years of his retirement between Lady Lake Florida and Michigan and finally built his last home in Mason. He will forever be remembered for his kind heart, devotion to family, constant battle for perfection, and attention to detail and craftsmanship in every area of his life. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years, Delora; daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and James Blaschka; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Karla Robson; son, Michael Robson; grandchildren, Veronica Peterson, Rebecca Blaschka Diaz, Delia Blaschka Walsh, Kristopher Robson, MacKenzie Shattuck; great-grandchildren, Eva Peterson, Elise Peterson, Axel Peterson, Eoin Diaz, and Nyle Lee Walsh.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in his honor at the Mason First Church of the Nazarene, 415 E. Maple St., Mason on Sunday, March 13, at 2 PM. Visitation with the family will precede the service from 12:30 PM to 2 PM. The family is being served by Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Holt Chapel. Donations may be made in David's honor to the Capital Area Humane Society and the Mason First Church of the Nazarene.
