Lloyd Allen Sherman

April 29, 1939 ~ December 27, 2018

Lloyd Allen Sherman age 79 of Holt, MI, formerly of the Elsie area passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018, at his home. 

    Lloyd was born in Lansing, Michigan on April 29, 1939 the son of Glenn Elmo and Frances (Zimmerman) Sherman. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and military honors will be provided by the St. John's Honor Guard. 

    Lloyd married in 1958 Judy Ann Williams; he then married Ruth Ann Miller on February 26, 1980. Lloyd was at Ruth's side until she passed away on July 3, 2012.   Lloyd worked at Oldsmobile for 30 years until his retirement.  He enjoyed photography, woodworking, nature and animals. His family was very important to him and he resided most of his life Lansing, Elsie and Holt, Michigan.

    He is survived by his son Lloyd Jr., and Darlene Sherman, of Algonac, MI; 2 daughters: Charlene Taylor of Marine City, MI; Sonya and Donald Healy of Maryville, MI; step-daughter Tonja and Randy Jones of Lansing, MI; grandchildren: Brian, Erin, Elizabeth, Nichole, Ashley, Morgan, Ian, Donavon, Josh and Zach and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 1 sister Carol and his brother Gary.   He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, daughter Cheryl Sherman, and his brothers: Clare and Glenn.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, December 31, 2018, with Rev. Mona Kindel officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI.   Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 4-6 P.M. and Sunday, December 30, 2018 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel.
