Tell us what you have been doing since your mission, where you've lived, what things you are involved in, what your children are doing, or any other items of interest you can share with us.
After coming home in summer of 82 I joined the Air Force as a Romanian translator. In December of 1983 I went back to Portugal for two weeks, dated Sister Helena Neves (she served in Portugal from December 81 to June 83) and got engaged (we started writing to each other towards the end of her mission). I went back to Leiria in May 1984 and we were married (President Hillam did our marriage interview) in her house in Leiria on Saturday May 26th, 1984 and were sealed in the Washington D.C. Temple 4 days later on May 30th, 1984. We have three children, David (July 30, 1987, Philip November 24, 1989 and Beatriz October 19, 1991.
After leaving the Air Force in November 1988 we moved to Provo where I attended BYU. After BYU we moved back to Portugal in 1993 and lived in Leiria for a year where David attended first grade and his brother and sister went to pre-school. After returning from Portugal in 1994 we have lived in Florida, Washington, California and Colorado. I have been in a variety of positions including International Sales Manager and CEO. We have been back to Portugal to visit Helena's family at least a dozen times including the entire summer of 1991 but not including the year we lived there. Our last visit was in October of 2008 for two weeks with Philip and some friends of ours who we took on a tour of Portugal. Helena spent six weeks in Portugal this year (2009) in March and April. We currently live in Provo where I moved my business (a software development company) to be close to a company (entrepreneurial and business educational company) that we are doing a joint venture with. Helena is working with this company developing workshops for emotional health and energy psychology to assist entrepreneurs and business owners to better manage stress and other emotional issues related to owning and running a business.
