I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Radio, TV and Film and a Master of Arts in Technical and Expository Writing from UALR in 1988 and 2001, respectively. I worked part-time for nearly two years in radio, full-time for a year at a non-profit, and part-time for a year at the American Red Cross. I also was employed seasonally for almost eight years at the Arkansas Agriculture Statistics Service, and worked full-time at Alltel, Inc. for close to five years in offline, customer service, and technical support. I last worked in 2008, full-time in Perryville as a volunteer for eight months on the Heifer Ranch, where I helped book participants for its educational programs.
I graduated in May 2013 with Highest Honors (4.0) from Pulaski Technical College with an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Technology. I was accepted in March 2014 into the online Ph.D. program in Technical Communication and Rhetoric at Texas Tech University. In May, I was offered and accepted a Recruitment Fellowship and Graduate Part-Time Instructor position, which necessitated my move to Lubbock in August. I started two classes later that month, as well as being a Document Instructor (grader) for two sections First-Year Composition. Unfortunately, due to multiple issues, working on campus and taking courses did not work out and I returned to North Little Rock in October of 2014. However, I still continue my coursework online.
After graduation, I hope to become a consultant for a university in matters of accessibility for students with disabilities.
