James L. Howe, 59, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.

James was born March 18, 1949 in Mansfield to Hubert Howe and Mary Huntley. He was a 1968 graduate of Mansfield Senior High. He was employed at Sarca Manufacturing and attended Real Life Community Church. James was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, who liked to fish and enjoyed music, especially "Grand Funk Railroad". James had a special love for spending time with his family, and he will be greatly missed.

James is survived by two sons, James L. Howe II and Nathan (Heather) Howe, all of Mansfield; one daughter, Keri Howe of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Kiera Ashton Howe, Brittany Howe, and Kaylee Howe all of Mansfield; another grandchild on the way; two brothers, John Howe of Mansfield and Robert (Debbie) Huntley of the Phillipines; two sisters, Marjorie Carver of Kentucky and Michelle (Billy) Jourdan of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and many good friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2008 at Werner Funeral Services, 175 W. 3rd Street, Mansfield, and also from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2008. Funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Phil Green officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Werner Funeral Services.
