Eva Eleanor "Pancy" Kent Sykes 52 of 199 Rowland Ave. died Friday,December 13,2002 at Good Shepard Nursing Center in Ashland after a long illess. Eva was born on August 1,1950 in Mansield to he late Oscar Kent and Alice King Rawls and a lifetime resident.She was graduate of Mansfield Senior High Class of 1968.She was a member of the Shiloh Full Gospel Baptist Church where befor her illness she was active as a trustee,founder and leader of the Praise and Worship Team,Dove Ministries Advisory Board,and steering committee member for Women United in Christ. On a state level Eva was the Northern District Women's Coordinator the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship and a member of the Full Gospel Staff for the State Bishop of Ohio. Eva attended Central State University where she pledged and became a member of the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority,Inc In the commimity she was involved with the Tyger Parent's Club, a former empolyment of the Lumberman's Insurance Company or over 30 years,and at the time of her illness she was employed by the Mansfield City Schools as a secretary at the Cline Avenue.Campus of the Mansfield Senior High School System.
She leaves to mourn her death a husband Billy,two sons Maurice and Marquis;a sister Hattie Flowers;a brother Gabriel (Colleen) Kent;an uncle Willie "Bates" Bond;three cousins Alice Bond-Minor,Willie C.Bond and Odis Stubblefield;special friends Debbie Butts,Rosie Curry and Elder Renia Collins all of Mansfield and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Eva was preceeded in deathe by a sister Mamie Kent and a brother Ashadu "Butch" Saliheen.
Friend may call Tuesday after 2 p.m at the Shiloh Full Gospel Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the church at 12 noon with her pastor Bishop William Morris Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Mansfield Cemetery The family has selected Williams Funeral Services for all the arrangements.
