David Allen Pfahler, 55, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at home. Born February 5, 1950 in Mansfield, he was the son of John L. and Mary (Davidson) Pfahler. Mr. Pfahler graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1968. He worked as a bartender at the Elms Tavern. Mr. Pfahler enjoyed cooking, had a love of music, and spending time on his deck with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie (Bandy) Pfahler; son, Brandon Pfahler and Brandy Griffith of Peachtree City, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Travis Porter of Mansfield; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Nicki and Eric Meister of Mansfield; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Angie and Jack Swartz of Mansfield; one granddaughter; 11 step grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Dorothy Pfahler; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat Whatman, Helen and Bob Bollinger, Janice and Ken Creps, and Elaine and Bob Hall; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Jim; and four sisters, Joann, Maxine, Margaret, and Mary.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2005 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice.

Here is a guy the was a ball to be around. I lost touch with Dave and one day my husband Danny and I went into the Elm'd for one of the Elm'd famous ham sandwich and Dave was behind the bar...His first word was "HI WINDY" longtime no see.and came around the bar and gave me one of his bear hug's So Danny and I talked to Dave for about 2 hrs...It was good to see him...
