School Story:
I always loved school, and everything that went
with it...friends, walking to and from, riding the
bus, lockers, schedules, teachers(the good, the
bad, and the ugly), attendance, saying the
pledge of allegiance, overhead announcements,
changing classes, fire drills(anything to get
outside), lunch lines(yuk!), dances, games, school
rivalries(Malabar & Sr. High), gym(remember the
shorts that we had to wear), study hall(who
studied?), science fairs, slam books, chewing gum
bracelets, cootie catchers, kids with the cooties,
penny loafers(dimes were in mine for an ice cream
cone), black & white oxfords with red soles(those
shoes would not die), straight skirts with splits
(daring), wrap skirts, hip hugger dresses, bell
bottom pants, pedal pushers, paisley(everything),
crazy hairdos, bows that you clipped into your
hair, dippity do, sponge rollers, hair nets, bobby
pins, white bobby socks, white tennis shoes
(always), music(the beatles, supremes, rolling
stones, Motown)songs that you could actually
sing along with, because you could understood
what they were saying, American Bandstand(Dick
Clark), Soul Train(Don Cornelius), GTO's, Firebirds,
& Impala's(muscle cars), stopping at Isaly's for an
ice cream, wearing my boyfriend's ring, and
putting angora through it(to make it fit), going to
the drive-in...of course I could go on, but I think
that you get the picture....
