After graduation, I attended Winona State U for one year, then transferred to Mankato State University (now Minnesota State University of Mankato). In 1992 I married David Northington, had Taylor in 1995 and divorced in 1999. Taught in many different schools, only to settle in Albert Lea at the middle school teaching special education DCD (Developmentally Cognitively disordered) Mild to Severely Profound and loving every minute of it. In 2002 I got married again to James Elmer (not getting married again if this one doesn't work!!! LOL). In 2004 Lexi was born and in 2007 Charlie was born. Yes named after my dad.
Our family has been through a lot, my dad was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 1999, was in remission, only to find it return 2 years later. He went through many surgeries, one that left him with a stroke. He is getting around pretty well, but still needs lots of help. Then about a couple of years ago, my youngest nephew, son of my older brother, committed suicide. We all miss him, but have been getting on with our lives.
