After high school I moved to DFW and started college at UT Arlington, joined Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, got a part time job as a butcher's helper, and then partied my butt off for the next 5 years. I graduated finally in 1988, cut back on the partying and worked two years for the FBI in Dallas. That was like the under-cover post office. What a waste of the tax-payers dollars that place was.
I left there and went to work in Blytheville, Ar. at Nucor Yamato Steel in the melt shop. It was about as medieval as job conditions could get, but the money was good. I would still be there if my ankles, knees, & back would have held up better. It was a great company to work for.
From there I moved to Lamar in NW Arkansas's Ozark Mountains in 1999 and am still there. I am a Realtor/Land Developer/ Residential & Commercial Contractor and whatever else I can make a few bucks at in this pitiful economy.
I got married in 1993 to a smokin' hot babe that was 8 years younger. She got her degree from Mississippi County Community College and now she is the Rn Administrator of the county health dept here. We have two kids, Sydney, 16, and Conner, 4.5. We live in our new house on our 283 acre Wildlife Ranch on the west side of Piney Bay on the Arkansas River. I still wake up some mornings and wonder whose life I'm leading. I may be the luckiest dude on the face of the Earth. A great wife, great children, & living in a great place. If I got any happier I would burst into flames.
Kinda weird since I was considered "most likely to do hard time" by my fraternity brothers and most likely to die in a flaming car crash by my hometown running buddies. Hell I even figured I'd be dead by age 30.
Whoooie! It's all borrowed time now.
