Brett passed away at age 41, on June 17, 2004 at Ft. Sanders NHC. Survived by son, Jacob B "Jake" Murrell, father and stepmother, Dwight and Druecilla Murrell as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law, and his stepbrothers. Very special friends included: Mike and Laura Davis, Paul and Misty Perry and John and Donna Wallace.
When I think of Dobie, a huge smile takes over my face. I remember his laughter the most. He was so much fun to be around. He loved to "nag" Paul Perry about everything and together the two of them sounded like an old married couple! It was hilarious just to stand by and listen to them make fun of each other and their cars! I wish that I had known that Dobie was ill. I guess you never realize how much someone means to you until you lose them. Dobie was a great person and he left me with a lot of great memories!
Brett aka "Dobie" was always making me laugh. I will never forget how funny he was in French class with that heavy East Tennessee accent trying to speak French. Mrs. Driscoll used make him repeat phrases over and over and he just kept sounding worse. He would just roll his eyes and we would all laugh.
