I know - aren't they great?! I wish we could get our hands on more pictures! I'm working on a slide show for reunion night, that I can hopefully make into a DVD for everyone eventually!

Hi Gail,
I think Jeff Pyle was "Beefy". If I'm wrong, let us know.

Sherry -

Everything is still a go for Sunday's picnic. It will be at the McCord Farm off Montvale Road from 11:00 - 3:00 (or whenever everyone leaves). It is a "bring a picnic for your family" picnic.

For the Friday night football game - we are supposed to have an area set aside just for our class -

We're getting really excited.....but nervous! We want this to be a GREAT reunion!

I spoke with Susan Eppinger today and she said that Jeff served in the Army. This past week marked 16 years since he passed away. But, as Susan (his mom) expressed to me this afternoon, he is in a much better place. I'm glad that Jeff was doing something that he enjoyed when he left us.

I got a message today from Susan Eppinger regarding Jeff's passing, as well as who he left behind, and what family members have been added. I'm trying to figure out where she put it, because I'd like to add it to his memory page.

Hey Bill,
On the 27 Year Reunion tab, it says it starts at 7pm. I'm wondering...where do we park? I'm sure things have changed since we've been there. I'm sure if we make it there early enough, we'll figure it all out.

Hi Sherry,

I'll roll into town around noon-ish so I'll probably just scope it out. I haven't spent much time in Maryville in a very long time. I left in early '84 and haven't had the opportunity to return for anything more than a day or two on periodic visits.

WOW!!!

Better than anyone could have expected. As mentioned, it was quite an honor to be asked to host this event.
The folks who planned the reunion should be commended. The scrapbooks were a huge hit. What about coach Roger Murphy? Just like he was back in 1981. You have got to check out his son's web site. www.wesmurphy.com.
Look forward to seeing people chatting on this site and the photos as they begin to be posted.
Thank you to all the ones who attended and participated.
I am proud to be a member of the class of 1981 @ MARYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL!!!
Thank you to all, Archie E. Anderson

Archie. Wow to you my friend. Well done with the MC gig. Just amazing. Every class has a spokesperson, and you represent our group with class and grace. Again, well done.

I truly enjoyed the reunion! It was so wonderful to see all who attended and catch up with everyone. Thank you to the whole committee for taking on the challenge of putting this event together! It was a huge success. Most of all thanks for bringing old friends together. I can say that no matter where the road of life has taken us all our personalities have not changed. We are all still who we were 27 years ago! Our Maryville roots and the MHS Class of 1981 remain strong! I consider you all a friend and if ever in the Houston area please give me a call! Thanks again to the committe and an extra special thanks goes to Vicki and Connie for their long hours of planning, searching, mailing, ordering, and printing. Thank you for bringing us all back together and hope to see everyone in three years, if not sooner!

Missing memoriabilia - Connie is missing her 10th and 19th year reunion booklets from the memoriabilia table - if anyone has them (her name badge is stuck in each one of them) - please let me know so we can get it back to her.

Also,Joel Southern had brought his sister, Myra's yearbook as well and cannot locate it. He thinks it just got picked up when the memoriabilia table was being disassembled. Again, please let me know if anyone has this so we can get it back to him.

Also - please check out the poll I posted tonight. It was suggested/recommended by several of our classmates that we have an informal gathering each year until our next reunion (30-year). It would be like what we did this year on Friday night - nothing formal, just laid back socializing. We could have it at a place like the Waterfront, or we could reserve the top of Sullivans in downtown Maryville to do this. Please cast your vote on this poll.

Julie! You beat me to it. What a wonderful time! For many of us that no longer call Maryville home, times like these are especially sweet. While the enchantment of East TN is obvious, it is really the connection to those who still live there and our love for them that continually draws us back. When we get the opportunity to connect, it really reminds us of just how lucky we are to be so blessed to have our class, our school and our history. Like Julie, I will extend the offer for those who come to DC. Please call! Now I'm off to update my profile, I had really good news today. Also, after looking at those pics, I'm on a diet!!!!

OK you lurkers (one who never responds on forums). Let's get busy and email our class of '81 family that didn't show and help them understand the great time they missed. If we begin to connect early and often, we will have an even better turnout for the next gathering. Just a short note. Let's make it happen!

Archie, YOU ROCK! Reach around and pat yourself on the back. You said you were just going to wing it so I admit, I was a little worried, but you had some tricks up your sleeve. You set the tone of the night. Awesome.

You all did such a fabulous job with the reunion! I am SO grateful for all the hard work you all put into it. It was SO wonderful to reconnect with everyone! I wish I could see more of you when I'm up visiting. I never run into anyone I know when I'm up there. Hopefully we'll be up for Christmas or at least close by.

I also wanted to connect with any of you homeschoolers, if any. Joel Southern said that they homeschool. What a surprise! I thought I was the only one. So, if any of you homeschool, let me know. I would like to know the guidelines in TN. Also, I've heard of a homeschool house swap for vacations. If anyone would like to swap a FL vacation home for a TN vacation home for a week, contact me and we'll talk. We have many beaches which are some of the most whitest and beautiful beaches in the world. I would be interested in any local homeschool support groups as well.
Well, I've got to get back to Economics & Am. Gov. Teaching High School should stimulate my brain...but, it just wants to shut down!
Blessings,
Sherry

Hey everyone! It was so great getting to see so many familiar faces. We all seem just the same.

I received copies of Deb's photos from Lisa and uploaded them to my Kodak Gallery. Follow this link (or paste into your browser) to view...

Thanks to Vicki and Connie and Archie, but also big thanks to Lisa and Dena and Chris and Deb and everyone else who pitched in to make it all happen.

Looking forward to the next one!

Great job Vicki and Connie--it was a pleasure working with both of you on this project. Archie, you were RIVETING--Great job to Jeff Nunn, Terri Spangler and Julie Henry for your part in the presentations. I loved seeing everyone. I can't believe how much some people change. I can't even count the number of guys that I did not recognize (Phil Durand, Jeff Frazier, Jon Lawler and Steve Crowder just to name a few). I think I knew all of the girls. MaryAnn Sexton looks exactly the same! MaryAnn--you can not come to the next one unless you gain 20 lbs and age at least 10 yrs!
Thank you Debbie Keny Campbell for the wonderful pictures, except for the one that looks like I ate a tire before the reunion. We will all remember what a great time we had because of you. Thanks to all that had to travel to the reunion. It was great to see everyone!!! Can't wait until the next one.

So I won't be a "lurker" as Bill Haynes stated...I just want to say the reunion was awesome...the pictures are great...and thanks Terri for the 6th grade pictures you sent me...those were fun times...I don't know why, but I always think of Linda Boyatt when I think of Tremont. I like the idea of the yearly get togethers and I hope we still have the "monthly" meetings.

WHAT A GREAT TIME I HAD HANGING OUT AGAIN WITH THE CLASS OF 1981. THANKS TO ALL WHO PLANNED AND/OR ATTENDED FOR MAKING THIS ONE OF THE MOST MEMORABLE REUNIONS EVER. IT WAS NICE TO SEE THAT NO MATTER WHAT LIFE HAS THROWN AT EACH ONE OF US, OUR PERSONALITIES AND FRIENDSHIPS REMAINED THE SAME. START THE PARTY AND LET'S GET TO PLANNING THE NEXT ONE.

Is that picture of Archie with his tongue sticking out for sale? After the comment that Connie made last night, I think it should be!!! We could use the proceeds from the sale for our 30th reunion. The porn industry is such a money maker, it would be a shame to let this opportunity pass us by. Just a thought.

I'm doing this post in hopes we can get this page really reactivated and very interactive. After all - 1) it's free and 2) never know when Facebook with go away!

Kudos to Julie Henry Cabot and Connie Pryor Ricker with doing most of the heavy lifting in planning our 40th reunion!  It was very enjoyable, low key, casual and I think everyone liked it very much!

Since a 45th reunion was brought up - lets start brainstorming and throwing out ideas on what everyone would like (or not) like to see!

I spent this evening going through our senior annual and adding members that were not on this page but had pictures in the annual. On the flip side, we have several that weren't in the annual but we've got built in as members.  I believe these are our classmates that went to MHS at some point and either moved out of the area or transferred to another school before graduation.  All are welcome but I'd LOVE to try to get as many email addresses and profiles updated if at all possible.  That way, when I/we do an email blast to the class, most everyone will get the information! This will help reduce the amount of sleuthing Connie will need to do  :-)

Looking forward to hearing/talking/messaging with you all!
