Stan Fugate
Eric Frye
Joy Oliver
Jeff McMillan
Jeff Nunn
Jeff Eppinger (deceased)
Neal Stone
Gary King

Please include National Guard service members too.

I had the biggest surprise today at work. This afternoon, I was in my office when Missy from HR came walking in with a gentleman. She said she had someone she wanted to see if I remembered. I looked up, looked at the gentleman, and said, "John Whitehead"! And it was! He was at the hospital working in his capacity with internet based knowledge based modules for employers to utilize for their employees! What a surprise! And, he said he found me with this website. He said that he had been reading Tracy Cupp's memorial and made a mental note to try to find me if he was ever back at Blount Memorial. How awesome! This site is REALLY working. And...thank you Susan Finch - he said you had contacted him and directed him to the site to begin with! KUDOS!

Yes Archie was definitely...

IN THE NAVY
Where can you find pleasure
Search the world for treasure
Learn science technology
Where can you begin to make your dreams all come true
On the land or on the sea
Where can you learn to fly
Play in sports and skin dive
Study oceanography
Sign of for the big band
Or sit in the grandstand
When your team and others meet

In the navy
Yes, you can sail the seven seas
In the navy
Yes, you can put your mind at ease
In the navy
Come on now, people, make a stand
In the navy, in the navy
Can't you see we need a hand
In the navy
Come on, protect the motherland
In the navy
Come on and join your fellow man
In the navy
Come on people, and make a stand
In the navy, in the navy, in the navy (in the navy)

They want you, they want you
They want you as a new recruit

If you like adventure
Don't you wait to enter
The recruiting office fast
Don't you hesitate
There is no need to wait
They're signing up new seamen fast
Maybe you are too young
To join up today
Bout don't you worry 'bout a thing
For I'm sure there will be
Always a good navy
Protecting the land and sea

In the navy
Yes, you can sail the seven seas
In the navy
Yes, you can put your mind at ease
In the navy
Come on now, people, make a stand
In the navy, in the navy
Can't you see we need a hand
In the navy
Come on, protect the motherland
In the navy
Come on and join your fellow man
In the navy
Come on people, and make a stand
In the navy, in the navy, in the navy (in the navy)

They want you, they want you
They want you as a new recruit

Who me?

They want you, they want you
They want you as a new recruit

But, but but I'm afraid of water.
Hey, hey look
Man, I get seasick even watchin' it on TV!

They want you, they want you in the navy

Oh my goodness.
What am I gonna do in a submarine?

They want you, they want you in the navy

Dena

Hmmmm, I seem to remember hearing something about Archie being in the Navy! Hey - we have 3 months to learn the song and dance for the reunion.

You're welcome, Vicky! This site IS working. I saw John at a wedding six years ago. It turned out we have a mutal friend. I kept seeing "John Whitehead" on emails going out about the wedding. I kept thinking "It can't be THE John whitehead!". Well, it was. We hadn't seen each other since H.S. but it was like we saw each other the day before. When I called him about the reunion website six years later, again it was like we saw each other the day before. The class of '81 is an awesome group.

I thought about #36 as I was reading #22. I'm still singing "Shot through the Heart". Thanks for the memories--Can I get my "New Kids" tape back?

Gail Spencer (Yost) (Died 9-22-2019)

I remember everyone saying "Oh Nooo!" all the time because of Saturday Night Live episodes. This echoed through the hallways with every class change for weeks.
These were "Mr Bill" imitations, if I'm not mistaken. I just told this memory to my children the other day. This memory was triggered by a u-tube cartoon clip my little girl was watching about a gummie bear running around saying "oh No" because he kept eating himself and liked how his feet and arms tasted. Hi Vicky. I spent 8 years as a submariner.

The invite finally landed in my mailbox. I'll see if I can make it down. I'm planning to be at the UT/UF game the week prior. It all depends on my travel schedule.

Vicki,

I noticed on the front "In Memory", didn't Scott die two weeks before our 10th reunion? I seem to remember that we made that announcement.

I couldn't remember when he passed away. I can't find his obituary.
