I started college at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Dad retired from the navy that summer and I followed the family back to the Oak Harbor Washington where I had attended my sophomore and junior years of high school. I graduated from Western Washington University in 1983 and went to work with a small startup in Bellingham Washington designing and manufacturing surgical equipment. That company fizzled and I went to work in Seattle for Telzon, a startup telecommunications equipment manufacturer. I worked for Telzon for 17 years and moved with them around the greater Seattle area as they grew and my duties changed. In 1999 I took a job with Motorolas Broadband Communications Group in Horsham Pennsylvania as director of Product Management managing their lines of optical nodes for the cable television market. In 2002 I changed jobs and returned to the northwest.
I lost my first wife Rene to cancer in 1992 and found myself a single dad stretched thin. I was twice blessed and I met and married Carrie in 1997. Her daughter Crystal (now 22) and my daughter Erin (now 17) are great sisters.
We currently have a home in the county north of Bellingham, four horses, a dog, a cat and some chickens. Carrie has a passion for Eventing (dressage, cross-country and jumping) and I have attended several riding and jumping camps with her and daughter Erin. My goal is to look like I know what I am doing. I have no desire to show but I want to do nearly as much as they can. It's a lot of fun. Over the last several years we have been helping and riding with the Fraser Valley Hunt Club from British Columbia, Canada. Galloping through the woods is a great thrill. Other hobbies include hiking, fishing, skiing and taking care of my girls.
I am not sure I can make it to the reunion but would love to catch up. Wow 30!!!! Its hard to believe.
