Jennifer Newport Cornelius

I left Mac-Hi my junior year to go live with my dad's family in Ukiah, OR. I graduated there and went on to work for the Forest Service as a fire fighter there in Ukiah for 3 summers. I attended one semester at BMCC, then transferred to WWCC. I got my AA there in 1998. I also met my future husband while attending. We moved to Coeur d'Alene the next year. We got married in 1999 and I went back to school at U of I's CDA campus in 2000. I graduated with my BS in Elementary Education and a teaching certificate. I started teaching 3rd grade in Post Falls, ID that fall. We moved to the Sandpoint area and bought a house and land in 2004. We had our first son in 2005 and I was a stay at home mom for a year. I went back to teaching in 2006 and am staying home again with Jimmy and our new baby Aaron. We do all the outdoorsy stuff our lovely corner of the world offers. I love the mega amounts of snow we get and the cooler summers (goodbye 100 degrees plus).
I've kept in touch with Holly Andrews the most. We've been to visit each other many times and we always have a blast in Seattle (naked bicyclists at the summer solstice celebration anyone?) So email me peeps - I'd love to hear from you.

Most of my memories of Mac-Hi revolve around sports. I have very fond and fun memories of playing volleyball and softball and of the friends I made on our teams. I remember the dreaded road trips to Burns on the team bus and how the freshmen were all so excited to sit in the back, but that was the worst spot to sit because of the exhaust fumes. Daily Doubles in the summer to train for volleyball.
