I am presently pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Administrastion (Public Policy track) at Auburn University in a joint program with Auburn Montgomery. My targeted completion date is May 2011. My planned dissertation will focus on factors in environmental policy liberalism in the 50 American states. Upon completion, I have options of going into teaching, going to law school, going into street-level public service in revitalization of African American and other minority communities, or whatever God's Will is. I graduated from the University of Georgia in June 1983. I then worked for The Atlanta Voice weekly publication for over 14 years. I have been in various blue-collar and white-collar occupations and careers since. I also earned a Master of Science in Rural and Small Town Planning from what is now the University of West Georgia in May 2003. I have been enrolled at Auburn University since fall 2004. Among my involvement in various campus organizations, I also host a '70s specialty show on W.E.G.L. 91.1 FM at Auburn University, called War Eagle '70s, which has been on the air since February 2006. I am presently involved in a small fellowship of Christian believers called Mosaic Family Church in Auburn. I am also presently been somewhat involved in helping an Auburn City Councilman in his effort to increase African American representation on the Auburn City Council, among other activities.

School Story:

I do not have any funny stories. I do remember my involvement in Dimensions, the literary magazine, participating in drama, the Close Up trip to Washington D.C., and being part of winning two prizes for Morrow Senior High on April 3, 1979-finishing third place in the Short Story competition at the Clayton State Arts competition and being in the cast of "By The Waters of Babylon", which won the Clayton County High School One Act Play competition. Oh yes, I also won in competition at the 1978 School Year. During our senior year, we had a winning football season and played in one playoff game. I had a chance to attend the wins over Griffin and Southwest DeKalb during the 1987 state football championship run. Too many more memories flash in my mind. I'll have to mull over them and tell you about them another time. The fact that I host a 1970s specialty show on college radio brings back memories of being a Mustang and all of the other crazy things from the Me Decade. Finally, I noticed our Class was diverse considering the times- Clayton County was mainly a rural metro Atlanta county when we attended, but we had some Latinos/Latinas, Asians, Jews and African Americans in our class, even though small in number.
