I went to NIU and earned a BFA with an emphasis in Interior Architecture. During my freshman year I spent a week leading an outdoor adventures trip into the Grand Canyon. Then spent the following summer coaching in NY.
The next year I met my husband-to-be. We graduated together and moved to Charlotte, NC. We spent 2 years there on what seemed like a extended honeymoon. We then moved to Schaumburg, IL. We live here but are always planning our next vacation.
My husband, Mike, is the head Librarian for a local High School. He is a "serial" student with one associates, one bachelor, one teaching certificate and 2 Masters degrees. I told him he is not allowed to attend any more school until the girls are out of college. :)
As for me, I spent about 5 years in the Architectural field and then hung up my tools and went to work for a computer company. I had great success over my 7 years there, (had fun climbing the ladder) but due to an extended illness, I had to leave my position. I spent almost 2 years on bed rest. After spending way too much time and energy on the medical world, I turned to alternative medicine. I am happy to say that I am completely recovered. I don't consider myself a sick person anymore. It took me seven years, 67 doctors, 11 hospitals, Mayo clinic, 2 pain clinics, and 17 surgeries.......but I am now, the picture of health. Thank goodness my hubby is a magician in the kitchen. He cooks up mean venison, buffalo and all of the other alternative things that I eat. I currently work for the doctor who helped heal me and I am the New Patient Coordinator for the office. I talk to people everyday who are struggling like I was. I am always happy when I am able to give someone hope.....
We love to camp, fish, boat, bike....you name it. The girls enjoy rock climbing but that is one sport, mom will not do. Mike loves to micro brew beer and loves to cook. So I am one lucky girl! (this is why I have to workout!)
It has been a while since we have all been together. I can't wait to see everyone at the party, email me in the meantime.

Holy cow! I can't even remember what happened last week....!
I fondly remember the "Dream Team". Our FRESHMAN volleyball team, who beat the Seniors and went all the way thru our Senior year with a great group of volleyball players.
All the great basketball games with Jane, Laura and Celeste. Our many trips to Avanti's to fuel up beforehand and McDonald's after to rejuvenate. I definitely can't eat like that anymore.
How many people out there did I teach how to drive a stick shift car? My little "gold nugget" barely made it through those days...I remember Jane Gallagher driving my car in front of Dairy Queen and it dies out completely. I had to run around the car and jump in. We drove off, to embarrassed to get any ice cream after that. Do they even make stick shifts anymore?
Driver's Ed......Jane kept saying how she can't see over the wheel. Not a good thing to hear when you are in the back of the car....And she couldn't reach the foot pedals. UGH
I love the memory of all of the guys dressed up and walking into the gym during the Boys Basketball pre-game to the song, "Every girls crazy about a sharp dressed man".
I had a great time at Jennifer Rohr's house when she had a pool party. We played volleyball in her pool in the back yard.
These were all such good times. I currently live a block from Schaumburg High School and we get to hear all of the football games, she the girls/limos coming down the street for Prom. It is really cool. It's like living it all over again. My daughters are about to enter Junior High and I can only think of all of the great times that await them.
