Michele Hewitt Reubin

I was a teacher in early childhood ed for 12 years, a volunteer EMT for 11 1/2 years. Opened a tearoom and retail store in Morton Oct 97 with my mom. Due to the economy, mom and I had to close the tea room in 2010. I went back to teaching part time, while I tried to decide what I wanted to do with my life. I had never thought about retail, but after a year not finding what I was looking for, I sent in a resume and they called me right away. Life works in funny ways, at that point I was just looking for income, and have found a career I love. Working nights & weekends can be challenging with a teen and a pre teen, but I really enjoy teaching women how to dress the body God gave them, and to feel good about themselves. Nothing better than having someone walk out of the store with a smile on their face, and feeling good. Again life threw a curve ball and I found myself in a divorce, not that that was a bad thing, just sayin., but the plan set out for me changed again and I just went with the flow, a friend of a friend is the District Manager for Dots in the Midwest and she was looking for a new assistant manager at one of her stores, after a few phone calls and an early morning breakfast meeting I was offered the job, and again nights and weekends can be challenging now as a single mom of a teen and pre teen, but so far so good. Just riding the wave to see where it takes me next. Funny how things change when you least expect it. Have been offered a new position that allows me to spend more time with my girls. No more nights and weekends, and something new to learn. I have missed things with them over the last year, but a moms gotta do what she's gotta do, to provide a happier and healthier life for her kids. So now a year later after the divorce my life has sort of come full circle. For those of you just starting to hear the rumor, yes its true...Dan Reubin and I are back together. What started in 8th grade has come back some 29 years later, just this time we are older and wiser. On my 42nd birthday, Dan asked me to become Mrs Reubin, and the answer, along with lots of tears was yes. So on Nov 2 2013 we will make this reunion official. It's official now, I am Mrs. Michele Reubin

Matt Barley asking me how a gallon of milk could do so much damage to my foot, the day before going in for surgery my senior year. You made my day Matt. I guess you just never bothered to ask what was really wrong. I tell that story alot. And for those of you who didn't ask either, I was born with HSP which is a form of Cerebral Palsey, and as you can tell has never slowed me down. Except for my senior year when I had surgery, and came back in a wheelchair. We had a wheelchair ramp on the back side of the cafeteria by the science hallway. I was trying to get to class going down the ramp, and lots of people were WALKING up the ramp, looking at me like "WTH get off my ramp!" when Scott Jones who was always my protector came up behind me, started running down the ramp pushing me screaming, "Get out of the way, Gimp in a chair" It was like a cartoon, people jumping over the railing, plastering themselves against the wall. Thanks Scott, you always made me laugh. I didn't have any more trouble after that.
