I currently live in Roosevelt Park and teach 11th grade Government at Mona Shores High School.

Eating at the school salad bar with the "boys". The lunch lady would weigh the salad and give us an evil stare if we loaded it up with meat. As a teacher, I have come to appreciate some of the pranks we pulled on our teachers. Our Junior year (1988) VCR's were brand new and Mrs Bruhn used one in history class. Someone in the front of the room (not me!) stole the remote control and hid it under their book. I'm sure Mrs Bruhn wasn't even aware of a remote control. Every ten minutes, the student would turn off the boring video and Mrs Bruhn would go up to the VCR and try to "fix it". While she had her back to class, the student would hold up the remote so everyone could see what he was doing. Today, I am sure that the jokes are on me. I am still paying for laughing at that prank. Also, leaving Mrs. Sherry's 4th hour class when the bell for 2nd lunch rang - 20 minutes into the hour. That actually worked more than once.
