Sheila Jolly

Sheila Jolly

Ms. Sheila Lenora Jolly, after 49 seasons, transitioned from life to everlasting on Saturday morning, September 19, 2009 from Muskogee, Oklahoma.

On October 2, 1959, William and Clarece [Ledbetter] Jolly were blessed with a viable, baby girl, whom they named Sheila Lenora. She was the baby girl in a family of four sisters and four brothers. Sheila received her education in the Muskogee Public School System, graduating from Muskogee High School with the Class of 1978.

Sheila accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was a long-time member of Rayfield Baptist Church. Her genuine love for people led her to a career in Home Health. She was an employee of Volunteers of America, but had worked for several Home Health Agencies during the past 17 years. In 1981, Mr. James Robinson became an integral part of her life and remained a devoted companion throughout her lifetime.

"Big Momma" as Sheila was affectionately known by all, young and old, family and friends, was an even-tempered and pleasant soul who loved and was loved by all she knew. She was a giving, commpassionate person, a loving Mother and Grandmother, who did her best to train her children and others around her to love and serve the Lord. The welfare of her family and others was always uppermost in her mind and heart. Her life will be forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lillian, a brother, Costa, and a son, Adam.

Her life will be fondly remembered and missed by her devoted companion of 28 years, James Robinson; her sons, Latron [Neoshia] Jolly, Norman, Oklahoma, and Allen Jolly, Muskogee; her siblings, Linda Manning, Norman, Oklahoma, Brenda Jackson and Fred Jackson, Jr., Muskogee, Barbara [Melvin] Monday, Tulsa, Oklahoma, William Jolly, Dallas, Texas and Willard [Donna] Jolly, Lancaster, Texas; a special daughter-in-law, Sheretta White, Muskogee, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, De'Vontay, My'Unique, Marquis, Allen Jr., Angel, Adam, Latron and Tyson; along with a caravan of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a loving church family, as well as many, close friends.

The hour of tribute will commence on Saturday morning, September 26, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the most sacred sanctuary of the Greater Rayfield Baptist Church. Reverend Leroy Walker, Sr., the Senior Pastor, will Preside. The Christian committal will follow the service in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery.

I did not know that Sheila had passed. I had a huge spot in my heart for this woman. She saved my behind on many occasions in Junior High and never failed to acknowledge me in passing through out the years. Definitely loved by many! Such a wonderful soul!
