Laura Deerinwater (Vietor)

Laura Deerinwater (Vietor)

Mrs. Laura Vietor, of Edmond, OK, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the age of 55. Laura was born on July 17, 1960 in Boston, MA. She grew up as the eldest of three, Charlene Deerinwater of Nevada and Michael Deerinwater of Texas. Her father was in the Navy, which involved her traveling around the States attending multiple schools. Eventually Laura graduated from Muskogee High School in 1978 and married Gary Massa. In 1979, Laura’s first daughter was born, Crystal Rhae Massa, and shortly after in 1981 Jessica Lynn Massa was born.

They resided in Edmond, Ok until Gary’s passing in 1996. Laura then briefly lived in Colorado, Las Vegas, San Antonio, and eventually moved back home to Edmond Oklahoma. That’s where she met Gregory Vietor, they wed in 2007 and were happily married until her untimely passing. While married to Greg, she found her passion for helping others and became a phlebotomist at the Oklahoma Blood Institute.

Laura was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to many. She touched the lives of everyone that she came in contact with and will always be remembered for her generosity and kindness. Laura’s sense of humor was one of a kind, that it seemed to spread to those that were around her.

Laura is survived by her husband, Greg Vietor; her daughters, Crystal Hinkle and Jessica Turman, step-son Jason Vietor and 11 grandchildren.

Services celebrating the life of Laura will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Crawford Funeral Service Chapel, with a reception following the service.
