Tommy Collins

Attended SFA for two years after high school - never received a degree - I made my career through the school of hard knocks and hard work - God has been good to us and provided the right opportunity at the right time. I run a medium sized heavy industrial EPC company in Houston. We do work all over the USA in refining, power, midstream, and chemicals. We have just built our second home in Port O'Connor, TX. Enjoy getting away and doing a little fishing.

I pursued a career in agricultural education in college immediately after graduation. That did not provide the future that I envisioned for my family. So I struck out on my own to find a career that would meet my expectations for my family and my future. I left college starting my Junior year at SFA and tried some careers around Nacogdoches. That didn't work. I packed my family and moved to Humble, Tx and began a career in heavy industrial construction with Brown & Root. That provided the entry to my success. After 25 years with B&R (training and preparation period) I retired and went to work for S&B Engineers and Constructors. That was the blessing of my life! I am Senior VP of Operations and have been very successful with my position with the company. We are growing and now competing with the majors in our industry. I praise God for that every day!
