Stephanie Baracco (Nichols)

Stephanie Baracco (Nichols)

Stephanie Lynn Nichols passed away peacefully at her home, on the morning of September 03, 2016 after a 6 year battle with Cancer. Stephanie was 69 years old.

She was born in Napa, CA on November 11, 1946. She was the first born child of Dorothy Mae and Julius Franklin Baracco.

Stephanie graduated Napa High School and spent many years as a chef in the Napa Valley before relocating up North where she continued her passion for food and the culinary world. In her free time she enjoyed driving her jeep to the coast, gathering driftwood and beautiful gems, bird watching, and working in her yard. She adored all her animals, and she was a lifelong fan of the 49ers. She was loved, admired, and cherished for her incredible strength and determination throughout her illness and medical battle.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her father Julius F. Baracco. She is survived by her mother Dorothy (Armstrong) Grooms, her brother Michael Baracco, her daughter Christine (Nichols) Parks, her three grandchildren Tayla Nichols, Hunter Robinson, Vincent Parks, and her great-granddaughter Nayelli Zavala.

She will be greatly loved and missed.

There will be no services, as her and her beloved pets ashes will be scattered by family.

Stephanie’s family wishes to send a huge thank you to her In-home Care Aide Diane, and Dr. Mark Turrill and his remarkable staff, for without you all, we never would have had these last 6 years. Arrangements by Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary in Lakeport, CA 707-263-0357 or visit chapelofthelakes.com.

I'm sad to see the passing of Stephanie. I knew her all through Ridgeview and high school.Seems like we had a lot of Gym classes together. We lined up in alphabetical classes together. She usually stood next to me. I remember her big smile. She was a very sweet girl.

Like so many passings, this one is painful.  I first met Stephanie in grade school @ Shearer.  We knew each other through high school.  I recall having a good, long conversation with her at one of the earliest reunions (10 year?).  She was one of the nicest kids I knew -- if I remember correctly, she was also a good athlete.  I have good memories associated with her & would like to hear more about her life from others.  Losing her makes me very sad.

It was so very sad to hear of Stepanies passing. We went all through school together from Shearer, Ridgeview and then on to Napa High. She lived right down the street from me and we often walked to Ridgeview together. She loved sports and was an excellent athelte. She would often walk up to my house when there was a street football game going on with all the neighborhood boys. She threw a mean spiral and the guys were always glad when she was on their team. We had a decades reunion at the Fairgrounds quite a few years ago and that was the last time I saw Steph. We talked a bit and she said the was happy working as a chef at Silverado Country Club at the time. Rest In Peace Steph, you will be missed my many whose lives you touched.

I remember Stephanie from watching the Girls Softball Games at the park off of Randolph Street.  She was a really good pitcher and those games were lots of fun.  More fun than the men's.  :)
