Barbara Ulibarri

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.

Barbara Ann Ulibarri, 61, a resident of Albuquerque, formerly of Napa, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 8, 2007, in Albuquerque, N.M. She was the loving wife of Richard Ulibarri for 23 years and the stepmother of Benjamin Ulibarri, who she loved dearly. She was the daughter of Anita and Oliver Casagranda and daughter-in-law of Jose Martin "Mitzie" Ulibarri of Santa Fe, who preceded her in death.

She is also survived by her sister Dr. Constance (Connie) Williams of Menlo Park, as well as her mother-in-law, Gloria Ulibarri of Santa Fe, many relatives and numerous friends.

Even though Barbara and Connie lived far apart, they both looked forward to their daily calls. Barbara loved and was very proud of her sister Connie.

Barbara was a special friend to many people. She took a genuine interest in the people she met and left a lasting impression on them by being a good listener as she gave her caring advice freely. She has always kept close contacts with her former colleagues and friends in northern California. Barbara was well-known in the neighborhoods where she lived for her outgoing personality, care and sensitivity to their needs and feelings. She was also caring and generous for those less fortunate.

Barbara worked for Pacific Bell for 17 years before moving to New Mexico where she met Richard. Over the years, Barbara's ability to care for the elderly was genuine and sincere which was acknowledged and respected by their family members.

Barbara and I worked side by side at the phone company for many years.  She resigned and moved to New Mexico and found her true love Richard and was so very happy to marry and have a home life.  I miss her phone calls and visits.

Barbara lived just a couple of blocks from us.  I knew her from grammar school on & have many memories of her.  I was stunned when I first heard she'd passed away & am now further surprised when I realize that she's been gone for several years.  Damn!!

I am shocked to hear Barbara has passed.  I knew her all through school.

Barbara was as sweet as she was cute.
