Cynthia Ann (Curtis) Bonelli

Cynthia Ann (Curtis) Bonelli passed away May 17, 2018 at home on the Bonelli Ranch in Covelo, California. Cindi, as she was known, was born April 1, 1946 in Parks Victory Hospital in Napa, California. She was a fourth generation Napan and fifth generation Californian. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Leland Curtis of Napa, CA, mother Glenna DeVere (Frost)(Curtis) Morea of San Francisco, CA, husband of 41 years, David Bonelli of San Francisco, CA. who passed away in Covelo, California on the Bonelli Ranch eight months ago and her step-brother Frank Crook. She is survived by her brother Richard Bruce Curtis of Chimacum, WA, sister Jana Lee Foster of Novato, CA, daughter Kerith Michelle Day of San Bernardino, CA, nephew Richard Brian Curtis of Takaoka, Japan, nephew Nicholas Bruce Curtis of Napa, CA, nephew John Lee Foster of San Jose, CA, niece Jackie Lee Foster of San Rafael, CA, grandniece Sara Nicole Curtis of Riverside, CA, grandniece Sandra Shigeko Curtis of Takaoka, Japan, step-mother Nita Curtis of Napa, CA, step-sister Patricia Ann Woodworth of Calistoga, CA, and Patricia’s son Daniel Crook of Los Angeles, CA.

Cindi graduated early from Napa Union High School in January 1964 and went on to find careers working for Bell Telephone in Napa and Fairfield, followed by working as an administrator for a steam ship company in San Francisco, CA., then getting into real estate transactions in San Francisco which became her main source of income. It was in San Francisco where she met and later married her husband David Bonelli, referred to in the San Francisco Chronicle as “The feisty Italian Pharmacist of Potrero Hill”. Upon David’s retirement they moved to a ranch they had bought in Covelo to live out their lives planting and growing nut trees, fruit trees, vegetable garden, flowers and hunting mushrooms.

Cindi and Dave became active in the small community of Covelo with the senior citizens, Legion Hall, annual Black Berry Festival and providing transportation for people to make medical appointments many miles away in Willits and Ukiah, CA. She also enjoyed a multitude of hobbies which included quilting, stain glass work, sewing, cooking, collecting a variety of collectables and mushrooming to mention a few.

Growing up in Napa in the 40s, 50s and 60s she enjoyed the outdoors with her family while camping and fishing all over California, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia, Canada. The majority of this was done on the North coast around Mendocino/Fort Bragg, California, only a three hour drive from Napa, and where her grandparents lived between Van Damme State Park at Little River and the town of Mendocino.

Her remains and a memorial stone will be with her husband’s on the Bonelli Ranch in Covelo.

God bless her and may she rest in peace with our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Cindy and I met at Silverado Jr. High in the 7th grade. We immediatly clicked. She was a fun loving person then and from her obit it sounds that never changed. I have no doubt that God met her with open arms. She has always been a special angel.
