HARRIET JANE FORREST

May 18, 1946

June 26, 2010

Harriet Jane Forrest passed away from heart failure in the comfort of her son's home in Port Angeles. She was in the company of her family and surrounded by love.

Harriet was a bright spark in many people's lives. Her eccentricity, ability to love and forgiving heart are all attributes she will be remembered for.

Harriet was born in Richmond, California, to Eunice M. Sturgess and William R. Kriedman.

Harriet was an active adventurer her whole life; she loved to bike, hike, ski and boat.

Her many travels took her to central Mexico on a bicycle, to Alaska by car and ferry, Costa Rica and Panama and many points in between.

Her willingness to learn and try new things led her into many career paths. She was also an enthusiastic entrepreneur.

At different times in her life, she had businesses making custom leather goods, herb farming and bookkeeping as well as studying the healing art of Reiki.

Harriet's greatest passion, as many community members know, was photography. She was very proud of receiving a degree in photojournalism from Peninsula College.

While she took great pleasure in capturing the beauty of nature and culture, Harriet enjoyed photographing her greatest love -- her family -- best of all.

Harriet was married to Peter Larsen for 20 years, and during that time had three children. She was immensely proud of her children and of her grandchildren, and always made family events her highest priority.

She is survived by her sons, Bjorn and Leif Larsen, and daughter, Karinn Larsen; daughter-in-law, Lillian Easton; and grandchildren, Sawyer, Maxfield and Alyssum Larsen.

She was a wonderful, supportive mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her extended family.
