I had been in school with Pat since first grade. Everyone liked him and he always had a smile on his face.

I first met Pat in the Fourth Grade at West Park Elementary School, and we were Classmates and friends thru Jr. High School and High School. Pat and I were in the same Boy Scout Troop for many years and shared a lot of Camping experiences. I will miss him. R.I.P. Pat.

Pat was a native Napan, 58 years old. He died in Capitol Regional Hospital in Tallahasse, Fla. with his family in attendance. Born July 20, 1946 to James P. Towey and Marion E. Fields in Napa, he died June 16, 2005. He attended school in Napa, graduating from high school in 1964.

During his high school years, he was an active boy scout. He advanced through the ranks to Eagle Scout and then to Assistant Scout Master. He was also a member of the Napa Seahawks swim team.

Pat volunteered to join the Navy. During his senior year in high school, he qualified for submarine training. The day after graduation, while competing in a swim meet, the recruiters arrived to whisk him off to Groton, Conn. for schooling and training. He served aboard the Triton when she sailed around the world submerged without surfacing. She was the first to do so.

He was discharged in the Washington D.C. area where he met and married Brucene Hutton.

Pat worked for Household Finance for a time before moving to Florida, working for Pitney Bowes in Tallahassee. He retired in 2005, investing in real estate. He was well known for assisting others, money management, social club, bicycle trips and especially his kayak trips on Florida water ways. His ashes are upon them.
