I was saddened to hear of Ron's passing. Ron was a neighbor living just a few houses away. We attended the same class in elementary and walked to school together until high school. He was a good friend to pass through the stages of childhood. Though we weren't close as adults I will miss him.                                      Henry Longoria

I knew his brother Michael Lamm, who was two years older than Ron. Mike reportedly committed

suicide by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. Ron was slight of build, but very pleasant.

I never ran into him later in life. Does anyone know what he did in life, or how he died?

I went to school with Ron from Pueblo Vista Elementary School, Redwood Jr. High and Napa High. He was a super nice guy. He lived in San Fransisco and I keep a little bit in touch with him on Facebook and emails. Here is what his sister, Gail, wrote apound his death.

I have some very sad news to share with you all:
My brother
Ronald Edward Lamm
has passed away following a battle from Heart Disease and Kidney failure. He will always be remembered for his love of art, photography and his endless devotion to all animals.
Rest In Peace my brother. We will always remember the kindness in your heart. I love you and will miss you forever.

Ron and I shared an apartment with another guy back in the 70s after we graduated from SF State.  He became a programmer and did very well at it. Some 25-30 years ago he bought himself a condo in the city near Balboa Park.  Along the way he had several cats and dogs and volunteered for one of the local animal shelters when he retired 10 or so years ago..  We'd get together now and then to play hearts (Steve Taddei and Ric Cleone included) and remnice over old times. Ron had a terrific sense of humor and I always enjoyed his company.

A story comes to mind from back in the 70s.  Ron had been smoking pot (it was the 70s! - and I might have as well) when my parents stopped by unexpectedly.  Well that lead to a scramble to compose ourselves and air the place out - good luck! (while my parents waited downstairs at the door).  I eventually let them in and made a fast exit with them to show them something (what I don't remember).  They did ask what that smell was - what could I say?  When I returned sans parents, Ron was still there and we just burst out laughing for what seemed like hours.

I'll miss Ron, he was great guy and a terrific friend that I could always  count on.

Rick
