Jeffrey Taylor

Attended UMass for 5 years and then followed an entrepreneurial path. Went back and graduated when I was 40. Founded over 10 companies...the most recognizable is Monster.com which I founded in 1993 as the 454th website on the www. I retired in 2005 with about 7000 employees, almost 2B in sales and a recognizable brand around the world. I helped open 36 countries- Monster is in over 50 countries today.
I now work for Ray Dalio at Bridgewater Associates in CT- the largest hedge fund in the world.

I had a great group of friends in high school but I was not ready to really put my ding on the universe. There is a saying that captures my HS days: The laws of the jungle- stand out to attract a mate or blend in to avoid being eaten. I was the blend in type in HS and then really found my gear in college. I would also describe myself as a late bloomer/ in fact I am still trying to bloom :)
