Russ Struck

Through 1960, Alex was a member of the NCHS class of 1963.  He led a quiet life in New Canaan until he moved to Horseshoe, North Carolina in 1984.

Fortunately, Alex was his own person, a truly unique individual.  Many remember Alex as the gentle soul that he was.  He had a memory for trivia, especially about the Presidents or the songs and artists on 45 records.  He loved ketchup to which he would usually add hamburgers, scrambled eggs, french fries, or even hot dogs, as condiments.  He had a passion for building birdhouses his entire life.  Alex also doted on his niece, Denise.

Unfortunately, Alex also had a reasonably strong stubborn streak and a strong dislike of doctors.  By the time he went for help, his cancer had spread and he passed on within a week on February 19, 2000 at 55.

He was survived by his parents Alexander and Cornelia Struck of Mills River, NC, his brother Russell and niece, Denise, of Basking Ridge, NJ and an extended family including six aunts and uncles and ten cousins.
