Karen was my next door neighbor and I still think of her so often.  When I moved onto Logan Drive before 6th grade, there were only 4 houses, mine, hers, Steve Parker (who had a sister named Karen!) and Nancy Nelson's house on the corner.  Seriously - 4 houses and 3 had Karens! LOL  We had so much fun playing in the creek, digging ginormous holes in the empty lots, exploring on the Merkle's back pasture... so many memories!  One of my funniest memories of Karen was when she loaned out her cat (maybe to Lark Kendall? I'm no longer sure) for breeding.... only to find out (after she was told that he wasn't very interested in the female cat) that he was neutered several years before.  :)

I wonder if her family knows that she is still missed....

Karen hosted a baby shower for me.  We still have the knitted blanket she made for DeAnna.  I don't think I really found a way to thank her properly.  Most people distanced themselves from me at the time.  She was very kind and way to young to die.

Karen's mom passed away recently. Her sister Patsy is the only one left, as her brother Carey and dad are also deceased. Gone too soon!

Karen was a neat person.  I hated it when she had her accident.
