I recently put together this short bio for the Muskegon Museum of Art in advance of a presentation I'm giving there--and thought it might be worth sharing here:
Best known as the voice of classical music and the arts every weekday afternoon on Blue Lake Public Radio, Foley Schuler celebrates his 20th anniversary as an on-air host at the station this fall—and has also worked as a freelance writer and editor, college teacher, arts organizer and lecturer. As a public speaker and voice artist he has collaborated with many of the area’s leading performing groups and arts organizations, has been featured as the narrator in two documentary films and remains active in the community, helping oversee both the Muskegon Area Arts and Humanities Festival and the Muskegon Writers’ Center. He was recognized for his contributions to the area’s cultural life with the Richard Charles Ford Award for Individual Service to the Humanities in 2011—and in 2014 was honored with the Charles H. Hackley Commendation for Service to the Humanities.
