Kathy Dority Casey

After high school I attended Southern Oregon College for 2 years. That is where I met my husband Jim. When we married Jim was in the U.S. Army. Our daughter was born at Ft. Irwin in Southern California and our son at the Air Force hospital in Wiesbaden Germany. When Jim got out of the Army in 1971 he joined his father in the moving business. I was a stay at home mom until the kids were both in school then went to work with Jim in moving business. We have been active in the Ceres community. We participate in our parish, St. Jude Catholic Church and in our schools. I served for 10 years on the School Board. I have been a member of Soroptimist International of Ceres for the last 14 years. Our business has grown, we now have 3 locations and in addition to moving and storage we also provide record storage and document destruction services to our clients. Our business like many in this area have been hurt by the downturn in the economy. We are fortunate to have the diversity of the record storage and shredding services to keep us busy.
Becoming Grandparents changed our lives, I used to say I would be in a wheelchair by the time I became a grandmother, but having 4 grandkids in less than 4 years almost put me in a wheelchair.
We don't have a lot of spare time but we do enjoy going up to our cabin in MiWuk Village. It's only about 60 miles from home so we can be up there in about an hour. It not far from Yosemite and other beautiful California spots, come visit us.

I have many wonderful memories of my school year. Starting school for me was walking to kindergarten at Mrs. Tobler's house then it was off to 'real' school. I think I can remember all of my teachers, we should probably have a test at the reunion. Of course, High School memories are the most vivid, I vividly remember being introduced as the Bulldog mascot, running onto the basketball court tripping and sliding on all fours across the court. I wonder what happened to that blue costume with the funny tail. I also remember a couple open houses we held in the girls' bathroom, and I vividly remember Mr. Chester telling me it wasn't a good idea.
There were a couple teachers, a certain Mr. C and Mr. N, that I remember a bit too vividly. But this too made wonderful memories, right Mr. Anderson. And yes, Renee did stay in the car.
